The Paseo Story

Located in the heart of the historic Paseo Arts District, Paseo Grill first opened its doors on July 10, 2006 — in the building once home to the beloved El Charrito.

Paseo, meaning “to stroll,” is a neighborhood rich with creativity and charm. The district is home to local shop owners, restaurants, visual performers, and artists, all carrying forward the deep-rooted sense of community that defines this area.

Originally constructed in 1929 by G.A. Nichols, the Paseo was one of Oklahoma City’s first commercial districts north of downtown — once connected by a bustling trolley line along Shartel Boulevard.
